Results of a Survey on DevOpsTrends

This whitepaper showcases the results of a survey on DevOpsTrends. We believe this is the first DevOps study to combine both technology and management perspectives, providing an integrated look at DevOps motivation, adoption and (importantly) results in organizations from less than 100 people to the Global 100. In addition to comprehensively covering a range of organization sizes, the survey represents a wide mix of industries including retail, manufacturing, financial services, healthcare, education, and consulting.

Here's an example of some study nuggets:
•	Despite the emphasis on organization, over 90% indicated that software tools were either "important" or "somewhat important" to DevOps success. Tools cited ranged from defect tracking and source code control systems to agile workflow tools and automated defect resolution tools.
•	Large organizations are more likely to have dedicated DevOps teams. Smaller organizations tend to implement DevOps with resources borrowed from other teams.
•	The three major DevOps benefits that were cited are, faster mean time to resolution for defects, team communication, and smoother software upgrades, echoing key DevOps objectives of collaboration and communication.
•	DevOps seems to be having the desired effect. Survey responders report that DevOps uniquely helps challenges with the software upgrade and release management process. 60% indicated that they can now do releases or major patch releases at least every 30 days.

Penetration Testing with Metasploit Framework

Today security is just an illusion. However safe you think you are, you might just be wrong. Penetration testing of your web application helps you know the vulnerability in your application and you might as well try to find out solutions for it once you know the vulnerability. Metasploit is the leading tool used by penetration testers today which helps test your application security and save you from possible intruders and attacks.

This paper tried to explain how Metasploit framework can be used by penetration testers to exploit flaws in the web application which could be really difficult to find if done manually.

However, IT departments need to ensure that mobile file sharing never jeopardizes the organization's data security or compliance mandates. With more and more employees downloading free, dropbox-type applications to access work files whenever and wherever they are needed, your enterprise may be at risk for a security breach. Download this whitepaper to learn about the requirements that secure file sharing solutions should meet in order to deliver mobile access while protecting enterprise data.

Most CIO's are still unaware of the excessive mobility costs they are overpaying each and every billing cycle. In fact, if an organization does not implement some form of wireless telecom expense management, they are literally blowing anywhere from $10-30 per device every cycle. This can mean big bucks if your organization deploys hundreds or thousands of phones/tablets/etc.

But it’s not your fault. See, the big wireless carriers employ top dollar ad agencies and marketing firms to maximize each plan's pricing strategy. Your monthly wireless billings are a great example of these marketing tactics in action. More often than not, billing terminology is complex and unless you are a seasoned wireless billing analyst, you will probably have an extremely hard time of determining where all of this unsettling overspending occurs.

Therefore, we’ve put together this white paper to give you 5 ways you can easily save around $5 per device every billing cycle.

In this whitepaper, we show you exactly how to use basic wireless expense management pricples to help reduce your mothly wireless spend. These unversal expense management princples can apply to organizations with 1, 100 or 1,000+ devices currently in use.

The E-discovery Toolbox: What you should look for in a unified e-discovery solution

Faced with the high costs of outsourcing e-discovery to vendors, consultants and outside counsel, organizations have no doubt considered insourcing some of the work. The decision of which e-discovery processes to bring in-house is based on various considerations. Setting aside the document review phase of the process, organizations look first to the most costly line items when deciding which processes to bring in-house first. In recent years, organizations have targeted collection and processing as two big-ticket items to bring in-house. In fact, Real eDiscovery’s Winter 2009 feature article (“Bringing eDiscovery Processing In-House”) addressed how organizations are attempting to move e-discovery collection and processing in-house and away from service providers.

In the short time since the article’s publication, collection and processing have expanded such that organizations are continuing to insource more of the e-discovery workflow. This trend is a result of a number of factors, including: the increased sophistication and capacity of in-house e-discovery teams, the pressure to adapt to shrinking legal budgets and minimize risk during continuing difficult economic times, and the development of technology that facilitates an integrated, comprehensive solution to the increasingly complicated e-discovery process. The issue remains as to which of the processes to bring in-house. With a unified technology, organizations have the ability to insource such capabilities as automated legal holds, pre-collection analytics, early case assessment and first-pass review.
