Zend unveils new framework, IDE for PHP
Zend Technologies has announced a new version of its Zend Framework, which was created as a platform for building PHP applications. The company announced the availability of Zend Framework 1.9 mid-week, which features support for PHP 5.3, plus "community-built, professional-level features for web application development." At the same time, Zend also announced a new version of its IDE for PHP, or Zend Studio 7.0.
While the incredible popularity of web applications have resulted in an explosion of web mega-sites across the Internet, the fact is that building these advanced sites requires a great amount of time and cost to create from scratch.
Zend obviously hopes to change that. Says Andi Gutmans, CEO and co-founder of Zend Technologies, said in a statement. "PHP is rapidly becoming a mainstay in the enterprise, and Zend Studio 7.0 provides everything a developer needs to quickly build dynamic, professional-grade PHP applications with high performance, security and reliability."
