Worm strikes down Windows 2000 systems

Late last week, Microsoft announced that exploits from a worm called Zotob were located for Windows 2000 flaws. Now, it's apparently the same exploits that have caused chaos, affecting ABC, CNN, The New York Times, and Caterpillar, security experts reported. It's urgent that administrators install Microsoft's patch for this one right away, since it spreads when infected mobile devices re-connect to central networks, meaning that anyone on summer vacation could create new infections as they roll back into the office.
