Windows users panic over Daylight Savings patches

You know, I must say that it was a little uncharacteristic when Microsoft rolled out its patches for the upcoming Daylight Savings Time change: they were on time, there were no known bugs and there were no complaints from users. That is, until now. Apparently Microsoft's support forums are being flooded by panicked users and admins who can't get the patches to work. "The workstation patches are easy, the stand alone Outlook tool is no big deal. If you're running Exchange and you try to run the Exchange update tool 930879, good luck. It's a crap shot," Microsoft customer Paul Marsh said in the DST chatroom. Remember: follow the directions for the patch installation closely and be sure to install the patches in the correct order. If you're running Windows 2000, Exchange 2000 or Exchange 5.5, you're probably not covered under Microsoft support and may have to pay $4000 for the relevant patches. You've only got three days left, so if you haven't patched yet, the time is now.
