Windows Server update almost ready

Release 2, a paid update for Windows Server 2003, will ship in the next two months, Microsoft officials said. Most customers will need a new license to run this update, which includes storage management tools, better Unix connections, identity management software, and the .Net Framework 2.0. Some of those features are available for free in older service packs; another service pack is due late next year. By then, however, the new features may be Longhorn-centric (the server version of Windows Vista is not yet officially named.)
