Windows Home Server: what is it?
With all this talk of the iPhone, your memory might be a little hazy right now and that's understandable. Remember that company, Microsoft? Remember its Chairman, the nerdily endearing Bill Gates? Remember how he wants you to have a Windows Home Server in your house? Oh come on, of course you remember.
More than a few of us were left standing in the dust of CES, wondering exactly what this whole Windows Home Server thing was about. ZDnet's stone-faced George Ou decided to do a little bit of digging and he turns up more than a few answers about Home Server. Is it based on Longhorn? Will it be available separately to DIY enthusiasts? And how exactly does that remote access work? If you find yourself asking these questions, you might be a geek. But you also might want to take a look at Ou's article for some answers.
