SPOTLIGHT: Windows 7 takes longer to become 'fully usable'

Iolo Technologies, which sells PC tune-up software, says that tests it conducted have found that a new machine running on Windows 7 takes longer than Windows Vista to "become usable." Of course, Iolo measured, not the time it takes for the desktop to appear, but rather the time until processor utilization is "no longer significantly high." If anything, this shows the optimization that Microsoft has gone through to ensure that the desktop appear in a shorter amount of time--all so that users can get to work faster.
