Windows 7 for business will go on sale September 1
In another clear indication that there will be no slippage of release date this time around, Microsoft has announced that it will start selling Windows 7 in volume to business customers on September 1. This places it more than seven weeks before the official retail roll out that will take place on October 22.
In addition, these customers can expect to receive discounts of between 15 percent and 35 percent. So far, Microsoft has been aggressively pushing Windows 7 to consumers with price cuts and promotional offers. After the misstep in Windows Vista, Microsoft is obviously keen to promote the greater speed and reliability of Windows 7. Personally, I can't wait for Windows 7 to be out, especially since Windows 7 RC has performed superbly when I installed it on an SSD on my laptop recently.
