Wikipedia switches from Red Hat to Ubuntu
The organization that runs the Wikipedia online encyclopedia--the Wikimedia Foundation--has completed the porting of its infrastructure to the Ubuntu variant of Linux. The transition started with the launch of Ubuntu 8.04 LTS, with Wikimedia aiming to push the LTS-only idea to the hilt by not changing Linux unnecessarily. Article
