What's next for Portland desktop Linux project

Portland is an ongoing project by Linux developers to create de facto standards for how applications integrate in desktop environments. The project's top members met recently in Germany and devised a list of next steps and future goals. Among them are plans for shell scripts, easier software installation tools, more standard documentation, and greater numbers of programming interfaces.
