What enterprises want in a browser
With the impending release of Internet Explorer 7.0 and Firefox 2.0, end-users everywhere are getting ready to bug their IT departments for a new officially-supported browser. But how should an IT department go about justifying the deployment of a new browser to management? What features do business users need most? The folks at Information Week think that they know the answer to that question, as they recently published their list of eight Internet Explorer and Firefox features "That Matter Most To Businesses." Here's the list:
- Remote Management
- Tabbed Browsing
- Security
- Search
- Feeds
- Standards
- Printing
- Saves
While the features that users want will vary from business to business, the above list seems pretty comprehensive. Is there anything on the list that you disagree with? Any must-have features missing? Write in and let me know.
