Visual Studio 2005 SP1 for Vista coming soon

Surprisingly soon after releasing Visual Studio 2005, Microsoft has announced that the first service pack for the development platform is on the way and will see the light of day within the next two weeks. As its name suggests, Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1 Update for Windows Vista has been designed to allow developers to take better advantage of the features in Windows Vista. "It's not a large release in terms of things it addresses," said Jay Roxe, group product manager for Visual Studio. "This addresses things like getting a better IIS [Internet Information Services] experience on Vista. We also worked on making sure error messages are more concise and clear on Vista. And we worked on improving the overall developer experience." Of course, it wouldn't be a Microsoft service pack without a bug fix or two, so count on some of those as well, when Visual Studio 2005 SP1 is released within the coming days.
