There are widespread reports of the first Windows Vista virus, but many of the reports are inaccurate. What happened is that an Australian virus writer produced five proof-of-concept viruses for a future Windows component called MSH and code-named Monad. MSH is a command-line interface and scripting shell, which insiders say is unlikely to even be part of Windows Vista. Others says it's not even a real vulnerability, but just MSH being used as a delivery method.
