ViewSonic display has identity crisis
With HDTVs and computer displays sporting similar resolutions, technologies and outputs, many geeks have found themselves wondering why they should shell out for two separate displays. It's certainly a valid question and if you live in tight quarters (a college dorm or studio apartment, for example), it might just make sense to have one hi-rez display in your domicile. Enter ViewSonic: the company's new line of Diamani DUO displays is aimed squarely at the consumer who wants an HDTV that can serve double duty as a computer monitor. The company's 19-inch NX1932w boasts a 1,440 x 900 resolution, five-millisecond response time, 800:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness and a whole slew of inputs (HDCP-compliant HDMI, VGA, component, S-Video, composite), all for only $349. There's also a 22-inch model that steps its game up to 1,680 x 1,050 resolution and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio; it retails for $399. If you're low on both space and cash, this duo of displays might be right up your alley.
