Cisco Systems' firewall appliance, PIX, contains undisclosed flaws allowing hackers to open ports of their choosing get inside networks--according to security expert Hendrik Scholz who presented at the Black Hat conference this week. Details aren't available, but Cisco confirmed its awareness of the flaws and said an update is forthcoming. That reply differs greatly from last year, when Cisco sued the conference organizers for allowing Michael Lynn's presentation about bugs in the Cisco operating system.
