Trojan hearse, not horse, new threat

What happens when a Trojan horse marries a rootkit? You get a "rootkit.hearse," as security researchers are calling it. The new malware has apparently been circulating the Internet since last Thursday to steal user names and passwords. It delivers them to a server in Russia, where who-knows-what happens to them. Auctions, banking and social networking sites are vulnerable to this kind of attack.
