The ToughTech Duo is a portable storage system that accepts two 2.5-inch notebook drives in an aluminum enclosure which disappates heat without using a fan. Users who desire a speed boost can select RAID 0 (stripe), or opt for RAID 1 (mirror) for data protection. Hard disk drives (HDD) can be swapped without screwdrivers, while the firmware monitors SMART data to protect against overheating. Finally, dual daisy-chainable FireWire 800 (400 compatible) ports and a combo USB 2.0 and eSATA port allows for flexibility in connectivity.
