In the continuing saga of increasing NAND flash capacity, there's no such thing as bad news. To that end, Toshiba has announced its own 16GB capacity chip, the largest flash chip currently available. Mass production of the chips will begin during the fourth quarter of this year. No doubt the folks at Samsung are less than pleased with the news that Toshiba has joined the 16GB club; expect retaliation sometime in the near future.
