Top features of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) earlier this week unveiled the much anticipated Android 4.0, also known as Ice Cream Sandwich. ICS effectively unifies Google's tablet and smartphone lines into a single operating system. Given the huge step forward that ICS represents, it is no wonder that many are excited over its release.
So what is ICS capable of? Below are some of its top features according to those who have tried it.
- New UI: Gadgets displayed on the home screen are now resizable; the Android team has also spent a lot of time polishing up the UI so that it feels "finished."
- Enhanced browser: The new browser more closely matches the desktop Chrome browser now, including the presence of Chrome sync.
- Integration of contacts with social networks: Contact information is culled from social networking connections and updated automatically.
- Face Unlock: For those tired of keying in numeric passcode, or typing in anything, for that matter.
