Testers: Vista betas are 'study in frustration'

Windows expert Paul Thurrott says he and many other Vista testers agree that beta versions of next-generation operating system aren't good enough: "Users are going to freak when their hardware and software doesn't work right. They're going to lose it when they can't do things that were easy in XP but impossible in Vista. On the other hand, some things have improved enough to trigger instantaneous smiles. Microsoft should ship Vista when those smiles outnumber the screams. It's simple math. Even a Pentium could do it correctly."
