Symantec gets hard-wired for new partners

Despite several acquisitions in recent years, Symantec realizes it can't do everything internally in addressing enterprise demands. So now the data protection giant is partnering with smaller firms Authentica, Avinti, PGP, Voltage Security, Vontu, and ZixCorp. Combined, they'll give Symantec customers new features such as testing platforms, encryption tools, and authorization/monitoring of outbound data. Symantec officials did not say when to expect products.
