Survey: Most businesses are not attending to cloud security
Most businesses say they are concerned about the management and privacy of the information they entrust to cloud service providers, but few are actually doing something to ensure their data is protected, according to a report titled, "Enterprise@Risk: Privacy & Data Protection Survey."
Rena Mears, of Deloitte's security and privacy services, underscored the importance of ensuring that privacy standards are adhered to, in a recent Network World article. Mears noted that the party ultimately liable for a data breach is not the service provider that agreed to protect it, but the corporation whose data is breached. At the moment though, the survey showed that either businesses don't have the processes established to conduct evaluations, or they simply lack the means to ensure proper procedures.
