Sun to make Java more Linux-friendly
Java isn't quite open-source yet, but here's a small step forward: the Java Runtime Environment may soon be bundled with Linux distributions rather than having to be downloaded separately. Meanwhile, there may be a big announcement about open-sourcing the Java Enterprise System at next month's JavaOne 2006 conference, officials said. The enterprise version will also get some support updates.
