Sun: How, not if, for opening Java

Sun Microsystems officials said they're finally willing to open source the Java programming language. But they're going to wait however long it takes for the developers and lawyers to agree on the details. Many outsiders expect Sun to release Java with non-standard public licenses, as they did with Solaris, instead of with the common General Public License. Also expected soon is a version of Red Hat Linux for Sun's Sparc computers.
