Sun: 4 years to go in x86 transformation

Officials at Sun Microsystems say it will take four more years until their change into a builder of x86 computers is complete. Why the long time frame? It's because customers and software developers need time to move applications from old Solaris/Sparc systems, the officials noted. However Sun's hardware designers are not waiting around. They still plan to release an eight-way AMD server in June.
