It's not as appealing as grids or virtualization, but there are several enterprise storage announcements happening at LinuxWorld this week. Symantec is upgrading the Veritas Storage Foundation to version 4.1, support 64-bit Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 and SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9, for Intel's Itanium and Xeon, and also for AMD's Opteron platforms. Also, BakBone Software has a Linux-based video and data recovery bundle; LSI Logic has an iSCSI offering for 64-bit Linuxes; and Yosemite debuted version 8.1 of its backup software.
