VLC 1.0 media player officially released after more than 10 years
The open source VLC Media player finally hit release 1.0 after more than 10 years of development--from the time when it first appeared as an academic project called VideoLAN in 1996. Indeed, it is one of a couple of media player applications that I rely on to render every possible format of video file properly. You can download it from the project website here. Article
