Synology has launched the new xs Series NAS, which is equipped with an Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) dual-core processor that allows the servers to deliver data throughput of 1,000 Mbps and 100,000 IOPS for demanding business environments. Both the rack-mount RS3411RPxs and tower-based DS3611xs come with 4-gigabit Ethernet ports with link aggregation and failover support, and the option to upgrade it with dual 10GbE ports using a PCIe add-on card. Running on the familiar Synology DiskStation Manager, both servers can be expanded to over 100TB of storage, and are compatible with the major virtualization solutions from VMware vSphere 4, Citrix XenServer and Microsoft Hyper-V.
