Spotlight: Skype gets makeover for Windows 8


Skype has announced that Skype for Windows 8 will be available this Friday. The new version of Skype takes advantage of the Windows 8 Start menu and its touch capabilities, and integrates with the Windows 8 environment so that users can start a conversation directly from the People app. It also utilizes the Connected Standby mode, a power-saving mode found in ARM-based Windows RT tablets and Windows 8 tablets based on the new Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) Atom-based Clover Trail processors.
