SPOTLIGHT: Revenue up, profits down for Cisco in Q2
Cisco Systems profited by $1.38 billion (22 cents per share) in its second fiscal quarter of 2006, down slightly from $1.4 billion (21 cents) last year. Revenue rose to $6.63 billion, up more than 9 percent from last year. Routers and switches grew by normal amounts, but more importantly, Cisco's advanced technologies such as VoIP, security, storage, small business products, wireless networking, etc., grew by a combined 5 percent.
