RealNetworks continues work on DVD-copying device despite MPAA legal challenge
Despite facing a lawsuit from the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), RealNetworks continues to hire engineers to work on Facet, a DVD player that will copy and store up to 70 films. Both Real and the MPAA are due to make their closing arguments later this month, so a verdict is not too far off. Why is the company continuing the development work despite the uncertainty?
