Programmer publishes source code to government spyware

A software engineer tasked with writing spyware used by a European government to intercept VoIP phone calls has published the source code. Apparently, Ruben Unteregger's contract with his previous employer allowed him to maintain the rights to the software, though he cannot disclose the companies and agencies using the software. Unteregger says he published the code to highlight the insecurity of applications such as Skype. Article
