Newsgator switches over to Google Reader

Newsgator, owner of the popular RSS readers FeedDemon (for Windows) and NetNewsWire (for Mac) will be switching from its proprietary synchronization system in favor of Google Reader. I received an email from Newsgator last night, in which the company explained that this move was in response to customer demand. The email also noted that it will be shutting down its own online service on August 31. In addition, service for its NewsGator Go! client for Windows Mobile and BlackBerry Smartphones will also cease at the end of August, though an iPhone version will be announced shortly. Article
