SPOTLIGHT: Microsoft's official EU antitrust fine is $357M
July 11, 2006 — 8:01pm ET
It's official now: the European Union is fining Microsoft $357 million ($1.9 million per day, since Dec. 15 last year) for not complying with previously issued antitrust violation penalties. Microsoft is appealing, of course, but meanwhile the EU says it will increase the fine even more (to the previously leaked amount of $3.8 million daily) if Microsoft does not comply within two months.
