Microsoft rushes out Office Web Apps preview
Yesterday, Microsoft unveiled its first direct counter toward rival Google's suite of web applications, which is earlier than some analysts expected. It includes online versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, the invitation-only beta test--dubbed as a technical preview--is currently only open to some "tens of thousands" of people, according to a spokeswoman who spoke to Computerworld.
