Spotlight: Microsoft releases OneNote for iPad
Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) on Monday released a new version its OneNote app for the iOS platform. Also launched was OneNote for iPad, a version of OneNote that has finally been optimized for the higher resolution of the Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) tablet. New improvements in version 1.3 include a tabbed user interface, tablet rendering and an option to sync notebooks only over a Wi-Fi connection. OneNote 1.3 is available for free, though using it with more than 500 notes requires an in-app upgrade at $14.99 for unlimited notes support on the iPad (the iPhone version costs $4.99). Users with more than 500 notes can still use the OneNote app for free, but will not be able to create new notes or edit existing ones.
