Spotlight: MaxiVista to use your spare laptop as an extra monitor
Perhaps you have just upgraded to a new machine and are unsure about what to do with your old but still perfectly-functional laptop. I recently came across MaxiVista, which lets your spare laptop (or desktop) be used as an extra monitor. The software installs on both Windows machine, and essentially syncs the content of your screen between the two machines to create an extended desktop. The Professional edition adds support for up to three secondary PCs, while Mirror Pro incorporates a couple of enhanced features. It's commercial software, though a free 14-day trial can be downloaded here.
