Spotlight: Matrox DS1 Thunderbolt Docking Station


The Matrox DS1 is a Thunderbolt docking station designed for Macs. It offers a range of peripheral interfaces for expansion, such as two USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.0 port, a Gigabit Ethernet port, 3.5mm audio ports for input and output, as well as the ability to connect to an external display. The full HD video comes in the form of HDMI or DVI. The first Thunderbolt-based docking station, the Matrox DS1 was released in the United States in mid-December, and ships internationally this month. Both HDMI and DVI versions of the Matrox DS1 are priced at $249.
