Marvell introduces Plug Computer 3.0
With more than 10,000 developer kits in circulation as of December last year, Marvell has announced an upgraded SheevaPlug in the form of what it calls Plug Computer 3.0. The supercharged device now sports a brand new ARMADA 300 processor running at 2.0GHz with additional features available such as a built-in hard drive and Wi-Fi. Envisioned as an always-on general purpose computing platform running on Linux, Marvell says that the appliance draws just 3 watts when fully active, or in the region of tens of milliwatts when in standby. The Marvell Plug Computer 3.0 will be available later this year and which should be priced in the region of the SheevaPlug at $99. Article
