Freecom unveils USB 3.0 hard drive

The first USB 3.0 based device has just been announced by Dutch storage company Freecom. Costing approximately $160, the XS 3.0 is an external 3.5-inch hard drive packing 1TB of storage. It will work with Windows Vista and XP using bundled drivers, with native drivers for Windows 7 expected to be available shortly after its launch. According to the company, the hard disk is capable of moving a 5GB movie at a blistering 38 seconds--which is very fast indeed. Article
