Forrester: Recession causing software auditors to crack down hard
In a report titled "Surviving a Software License Audit," research firm Forrester noted that the economic recession is seeing software vendors cracking down harder on licensing infringements and compliance issues in order to squeeze out every penny that they are entitled to receive. Forrester analyst Duncan Jones gave the following analogy, "The better vendors are like those traffic police that prevent speeding by being highly visible...but others seem to be like the revenue-generating cops who hide with their radar guns in bushes at the bottom of steep hills."
