SPOTLIGHT: eBay may acquire Skype for $2B to $3B
There is new information that eBay may acquire Skype for $2 billion to $3 billion. It's an interesting pairing. Will Skype continue to have independent prospects, such as with eBay's acquisition of PayPal? Or will its technology become a buyer-to-seller means of communication, also shared with Craigslist, which is 25 percent owned by eBay? Or, most interesting of all, would eBay consider a brandable, enterprise version of a VoIP-enabled e-commerce platform? Who else might have bought Skype?
