CRU-DataPort has announced the addition of USB 3.0 to its popular RTX family of removable storage enclosures. Designed to hold a single 3.5-inch SATA hard drive without the need for cumbersome trays or screws, the RTX100-3Q incorporates support for various high-speed interfaces such as USB 3.0 (compatible with USB 2.0), eSATA and dual FireWire 800 ports. The RX100100-3SJ model with support for USB 3.0/2.0 and eSATA is also available. The company says that the use of a passive thermal design provides for optimal heat dissipation without the need for cooling fans. The RTX100-3SJ and RTX100-3Q enclosure are available from a starting price of $99 and $139 respectively.
