Cisco beefs up Ethernet switch offerings
Network giant Cisco Systems has released a slew of new products, among them the Catalyst 3750-X and 3560-X network switches. Both switches come in either 24 or 48 ports configuration, with selected models sporting POE+, which allows the switch to power up (or down) attached devices. What is interesting is the availability of a feature called StackPower, available only on selected Catalyst 3750-X switches. StackPower essentially allows the switches to share each others' power supplies, which adds even more redundancy to this failure-prone aspect of computer equipment. Article
