Adobe ranks second on buggiest software list

The number of vulnerabilities found in applications from Adobe rose from 14 to 45 this year, putting it into second spot in a ranking of the buggiest software. The statistics were compiled by Qualys, a vulnerability management provider, which saw Mozilla Firefox topping the list. On Firefox's high number of vulnerabilities, Qualys Chief Technology Officer Wolfgang Kandek explained that all flaws in the open source Firefox browser are publicly disclosed, unlike those from proprietary vendors such as Microsoft and Adobe.  Where proprietary software is concerned, they are typically only disclosed when discovered by researchers outside the companies.
