Sony's psychedelic Vaio is a trip

Do you count Iron Butterfly's 17-minute jam "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" among your favorite songs of all time? Do you openly rock tie-die shirts in public? Do you grow your own, uh, "herbal refreshment" at home? Well congratulations, my psychedelic friend, Sony has finally made a Vaio laptop for you! Featuring two different lid designs lovingly crafted by "emerging New York artist" Maya Hayuk ("Grow" is pictured above), Sony's new Vaio "Graphic Splash Edition" notebooks are quite a trip when compared to the company's usually mundane designs. Luckily, the machine's innards are appropriately colorful as well, boasting a 2.0Ghz Core 2 Duo T7300 and Santa Rosa, up to 4GB of RAM, a 200GB hard drive, Nvidia's GeForce 8400m GT, 802.11a/b/g/n and a Blu-ray burner. Unfortunately, the asking price for these is pretty steep--$2,500--so for the time being, we'll have to entertain ourselves with visions of laptops in the sky with diamonds.
