Screenshots of Windows App Store purportedly leaked
Screenshots of what is purported to be the new Windows App Store have been leaked by Chinese site CNBeta.com. The screenshots show a top seller list featuring software such as Internet Explorer, Microsoft's (NASDAQ: MSFT) Security Essentials, Office 2010...and Angry Birds. Multiple applications can apparently also be downloaded at the same time, while a "My Gift" icon hints at the option of gifting applications to friends and loved ones.
According to TIME, the Windows App Store "looks awfully similar to the Mac App Store" and, hence, is likely fake. On the other hand, the fact that the App Store appears to be running on Windows 7 also offers the tantalizing possibility that it will not be a Windows 8 exclusive, observed Business Insider. Believe it or not, you can catch a glimpse of the screenshots on CNBeta here.
