Rumor: LED displays coming to MacBook Pros
You may recall us reporting on a rumor earlier this month, that both Apple and HP would soon revamp their laptop lines with LED-based displays. As you may already know, LED displays allow for more accurate color reproduction and uniformity, a higher contrast ratio and improved brightness--while being more expensive, on the flip side. At any rate, this rumor is now one step closer to being a reality, for the Mac, at least. Citing the usual "faithful industry sources" AppleInsider is claiming that Apple will bring LED displays to the entire Mac line, starting with the 15-inch MacBook Pro model. The new professional-oriented laptop is scheduled to make its debut in the second quarter of this year, which is very convenient indeed, considering Leopard's likely launch window.
