Router vendors address QoS, security, IP video

Alcatel, Juniper, and Cisco all recently introduced new features to differentiate their high-end routers. Alcatel upgraded its SR_OS operating system to version 3.0 with a new focus on high-availability features for the 7750 Service Router and the 5620 Service Aware Manager. Juniper added virtualization and VPN features to its SA 6000 SP product. Cisco released software for better IP video quality in the CRS-1 core router and 7600-series metro Ethernet routers.
