RIM's BlackBerry adds IM, telephony server

Research In Motion is finally making some news about products, not patents. The new BlackBerry Enterprise Server 4.1 supports instant messaging via Microsoft and IBM servers, simplified user device updates, an updated applications development suite and new security options. RIM also said it acquired its partner Ascendent Systems, which connects PBX systems to BlackBerry devices.
